Beau Babbs Bio
My name is Beau Babbs and I was born in Lancaster, Ohio in 1972. After graduating from high school in 1990, I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps as an infantryman from 1990-1994. I was honorably discharged as a Sergeant and I then returned Ohio in 1994. I earned a BBA in Finance and a BA in History from Ohio University in 1997 and worked for a year as an auditor for Price Waterhouse Coopers in Columbus, Ohio from 1997-1998.
In 1998, I accepted a position as commercial loan analyst with Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, a U.S. bank that was expanding into Florida. For 5 years, I analyzed commercial real estate and operating business loan requests from across the U.S. While there, I earned my MBA from the University of Central Florida and attended training from the Risk Management Association in Commercial Loan Underwriting and Financial Statement Analysis. In 2002, I left the bank and began writing business plans and analyzing commercial loans on an independent contracting basis. Since 2002, I’ve been self-employed in this same field and I’ve served clients from most regions of the United States.
In addition, I taught personal finance and investments for 4 years at Florida Southern College. I’ve also served on the advisory boards of 4 privately held central Florida companies (manufacturer, wholesaler, and two business to business service companies).
I reside in Lancaster, Ohio. I’m married with 3 children. We attend church at Calvary Baptist Church. I’ve done volunteer work through Big Brother/Big Sisters, Junior Achievement, and several Christian charities. My hobbies include fishing, target shooting/hunting, hiking, reading Ernest Hemingway’s novels, studying American history, and traveling.
